My Nephew Justin

Justin received the baptism of the Holy Spirit this year and what God is doing in him is amazing.

We have seen such growth in his life in such a short time.

He’s the first to volunteer to pray, always has comments after a lesson and get this, he actually practices the Word he hears. We had a Sunday school lesson on how you spend your time. I gave the kids Monopoly money in an envelope.

Everybody had the same amount. And we had items on display that represented how they spent their time. Playing video games was $250/hr, Internet/Myspace etc. $200. And you had to buy with your money the amount of time you spend on these things each day. When they had all spent their money…I had a little figurine of someone praying sitting on my desk covered up. So I uncover the figurine and ask, well what about time with the Lord? The cost was $500. Of course all the kids were bankrupt. So they started putting back video time, Internet time, etc. to make time for Jesus.

My nephew never forgot that and tells me all the time that he’s praying more at home. “Spending” his time wisely. When he spent the night last weekend, he looked in Evan’s closet and said, “I guess this will be my prayer closet.” I told him, “Yes sir. Do whatever you need to do.”

Last Sunday after Sunday school, he nearly rushes me and tells me he has a word to share next Sunday. I tell him sure! He lost his bible and so I gave him my small one. He was so thankful and it was sincere. When I went by my sister’s house, he was there reading it. My 5-year-old niece told me that Justin was very thankful for the bible I gave him. Apparently he shared not only those sentiments with me but everybody else in the house.

I am really excited about what God is doing in this kid. He is real good ground and I know we’ll see fruit from this one.
