I’m currently reading a book on redefining your creative process and how to once again think creatively.
One of the suggestions was to just stop and observe. The author recommended walking outside, pick a color then look for that color along the walk.
Today I had to drop off some work to a client and took the train to my client’s office. On the return trip, I remembered this and picked the color orange. So I’m waiting for the train, looking for all things orange. I see lots of pylons, and I notice there’s something orange on the building across the street.
I focus a little more and notice that there is writing on the building in orange.
I grinned and did as the writing suggested.
It read… Are you ready for this?
Ask and it shall be given unto you, seek and you shall find, knock and the door shall be opened unto you.
I would have never seen that had I not been looking for something orange.
