Life in the ‘burbs

This is the first Saturday since we’ve moved that we actually got out to explore our new neighborhood. We were trying to find a store we used to frequent by our old house and according to Yahoo! there was supposed to be one nearby. What I didn’t do was call to verify if the store was still open because it was not!

Now the nearest store is some six miles away. Elgin asked, “Is it really worth it?” My answer, “Yes!” So next weekend I’ll travel six miles to shop from a store that feels like home to me. It’s a comfort thing. Everything is so unfamiliarwell except for Wal-Mart and HEB in our new neighborhood. I’m still learning the area. Still haven’t found a cleaners yet and the nearest Christian book store is a good distance from where we are too. Not to mention I’ve got to find a good nail shop. Welcome to the ultimate suburbia.

And I won’t even mention we’ve got to travel to find the “sista girl” beauty supply. Sorry, Sally’s just won’t cut it.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not complaining…just have to do some adjusting to our new space. I absolutely love our home and am so grateful for it!
