Tuesday – Quick Recap

Posted by on Jan 30, 2008 in Uncategorized | 0 comments

A couple of blogs ago, I mentioned that I had finally accepted that my new 9-to-5 is where I was supposed to be. With that acceptance came manifestation! Wow! Things have changed drastically on the job and the future looks very bright! I’m actually excited. I have a string of interviews to conduct, I hired a graphic designer and lots of good things are happening. Elgin is feeling much better. He went to the doc because he couldn’t keep anything down. We thought it may be his ulcer acting up again (after all these years) but his blood work came back fine. We’ll call it a passing stomach virus. He’s regained his strength and heads back to his 9-to-5...

On the mend

Our family is on the mend. We’ve all been sick, missed some days of work and school behind coughing and sore throats but we’re better today. Elgin couldn’t take off and will spend the day resting. Last night, I took my teenager to the YA (a place where kids can go practice dancing). I told her that we weren’t going anywhere on Saturday. It was a true Sabbath and we were going to rest. Acceptance

I’ve finally accepted that my new job is where I’m supposed to be. I’ve said this verbally but it took a minute for my heart to catch up. I’m OK with it all. I even had somebody respond to my online resume but I am resolved to stay here. As much as that scares me sometimes, I know God has a purpose for me. My freelance business continues to grow and I’ll have an intern working with me! This is going to be a huge help! At the end of the year I’ll be completely organized if nothing else. All these projects, ministry, life in general are going to require it. Exhaling and pulling up my sleeves. As Elgin has said, it’s time to be...

I was riding to work one day when Elgin told me to turn the radio to NPR. There was a story being played on how sleep is unappreciated in our culture. People would actually give up sleep if they could so that they could be more productive. They see sleep as useless. You can read the article here. I’m the woman trying to find out how to get more of it…not less. I personally think these folk are a little extreme. These are probably the same people who will come to work sick because staying home and allowing the body to heal is not seen as productive. Things will get behind and God forbid they don’t make it into the office. Well as a woman who has caught...

Cough, sniff sniff

Evan and I are home sick today. I caught whatever was going around at the office and Evan caught it from me. (Elgin says he’s refusing to catch it!) Quite a few people were sick on the job and ventilation isn’t the best. I brought my Lysol and hand sanitizer but it was obviously a little too late. I’m hot and cold at the same time, running a low grade fever and I’ve got chills. So I’m briefly from under the covers checking e-mails. Lindsey’s laptop is being a bit resistant otherwise I’d still be in bed! Sunday service at church went well and we decided to go back out evangelizing this Saturday. I’m excited. I need to get...
