Mac the Beagle

Our new neighborhood has proven to be Mac’s fountain of youth. I haven’t seen Mac run since we first brought him home years ago! LOL! He still hasn’t seen the upstairs because his little legs and large midsection won’t allow him to climb them. I still think he’s part basset hound because of the size of his chest but Elgin firmly believes he’s all beagle. I’m not convinced.

Anyway, he and I have been going for leash free walks at night in our cul-de-sac. The night air has been cold, dry and crisp. Great walking weather! And Mac has taken off running — well it’s a nice trot anyway!

He’s not as hard-headed as used to be. He’s a beagle and he’s going to go where ever his nose takes him. But he’s been real good and will at least glance my way when I call him and head my general direction.

Long live Mac the puppy (who’s all of 13-14 years old but still a puppy according to Elgin)!
