The day my sister arrives prepared to stay with us for the long haul is the day they restore power to her place.
My niece and nephew have to be back in school Thursday whereas we got news today that our two are out for the entire week.
So she’s got to pack up everything all over again and go back home tomorrow.
She’s tired and could really use your prayers.
My niece and nephew aren’t happy about the idea of going home and back to school. They wanna hang out here. Needless to say I think our house is the loudest house on the block right now! I cooked for everybody tonight and my sister enjoyed a hot meal and hot shower. She may be passed out for the evening right now.
It was a busy day today…I finally got to retouch my walls and wiped down doors and dust blinds. That kind of fun stuff. Tomorrow I may have all the little people on baseboard duty!
I do need to get some work done and am looking forward to something that resembles normal soon.
We have a claims adjuster coming out to look at our other house. I’m praying it goes well. I may still have to gather estimates myself.
That’s my update from the Lone Star State tonight.
God bless my fellow Houstonians and those in Louisiana still feeling the impact of Hurricane Gustav and Ike. Let our public officials operate in wisdom. In Jesus’ name…amen.
