Hurricane Ike

We’re ready to ride the storm out.

I went to Walmart early this morning and seems a lot of people had the same idea. I filled up my gas tank, got our propane tank filled, got some cash and now we wait.

My heart goes out to the folks who have to wait till after work today and go to the stores because essential items were clearing out fast this morning. The gas station I went to said they would be out of gas soon.

My sister will ride out the storm with us if it gets real bad.

I’m praying our old house rides out the storm well and our tenants are OK.

There’s been so much talk about hurricane preparedness. We’ve had close encounters but no major hurricanes have hit the greater Houston ares in some years. So we’re due is what I’m told. Let’s just get this over with already.

Going to check and see if school is canceled for the kids tomorrow.

And my prayer is the power holds. It’s way too hot to be without AC!
