Saving ‘Shaneeka’

Some years ago, I was so grieved about the condition of our inner cities. And I asked the question, “How do I get ‘Shaneeka’ to change her mind?” Change her mind about her current situation. About how she rears her children. How she treats herself. I knew if I could get her to change her mind, communities and families would be completely turned around. I felt powerless. He works in manufacturing and unfortunately the job is pretty much the same each day. There’s really nothing warm and fuzzy about it. You’ve got to produce so many widgets in a day to meet customer...

Wow! Saturday night Elgin and I had the chance to minister at the Demon Crushers Candlelight and You event. It was a special evening for married couples, engaged couples and those courting. The room was beautifully decorated. Candles were lit everywhere and was the only light in the room. It was such an intimate setting. Each couple had their on cozy table. There was chance to slow dance with my boo which was absolutely wonderful. Christian recording artist Yunek sang beautifully. A couple even performed a chorographed piece to The Closer I Get To You which was really nice. We knew the setting was going to be intimate and that some of the people in attendance...
