Proof came in the mail yesterday

All this time, I had been afraid of the unknown. And let me tell you, the enemy is such an opportunist. Because what you don’t know, he’ll gladly fill in the blanks for you and mostly with lies. The bible is correct in stating that the enemy is the father of all lies. Well additional proof came in the mail yesterday.

Here are the facts.

  • I am a 40 year old African-American woman
  • I am over the normal weight requirement for my height (have been since childhood)
  • I am apple-shaped (carry weight around midsection versus pear-shaped folk who carry weight around hip, butt, and thigh.)
  • My family has a history of all the diseases that come with being overweight (diabetes, high blood pressure and so on)

So knowing all of this and then the constant bombardment of TV ads and PSAs, the enemy was more than willing to tell me I was a goner and that I was only a few breaths away from a heart attack.

I’d been putting off having blood work done because I was scared. I didn’t want to have in black and white what I already thought I knew. And not knowing created additional stress.

Now, never mind my hospital visit earlier in the year gave me a clean bill of health. The enemy said, what do they know…they probably missed something. Another round of test also proved no ulcer and everything in my tummy was working fine. Still, the enemy said well if that’s true, why are you experiencing this symptom?

Last week, I swallowed a big girl pill and submitted to blood testing.

And just as God had promised and what the docs had been saying all the time, ain’t nothing wrong with me!

My blood work came back basically clean. Weight loss and diet change will bring numbers that are only slightly over normal back within normal range.

All this time, I allowed the enemy to torment me because I chose not to know. Perishing because I lacked knowledge.

So as with most things there are a couple of things to be learned here. 1.) The enemy is an opportunist. What you don’t know, he’ll gladly provide his version or outlook on your situation. And his word always contradicts the word of the Lord. 2.) Don’t be willingly ignorant. Gives the enemy way too much ammunition. 3.) Take care of your health. It is a gift from the Father.

So where do I go from here?

To a smaller dress size.

It would be disrespectful to the Father to take advantage of His grace where my health is concerned. He has favored me and I refuse to be stupid.

God promised that the second half of my life would be so much better than the first.

I cannot be tormented anymore in regards to my health!

Proof that the enemy had been lying all this time came in the mail yesterday.
