Highly Valued

My list of things I highly value…

1. Walk with God/Word of God – I treasure above all else. It is what my entire life is built upon. Not everyone can or wants to say that. I have no problem with it. Church folk don’t bother me, hypocrites don’t move me, they are not the source of my walk with God…Jesus is. Again, I ain’t moved. This line of thinking was birthed through some storms and now I am firmly planted.

2. Covenant Relationships – First with spouse of almost 22 years and then with those whom God has placed in my life. Covenant relationships bless my life like none other.

3. Gotta love the kids – Are they perfect? Not even. Is it sometimes exasperating being a parent? Yep. But the kids are representative of some of my most fervent prayers. I love them even though they can drive me up the wall. They are good kids.

4. College Education – I value this so much at this stage of my life. The majority of the classes are immediately applicable. I love it. Last night DH and I had a great, long conversation. With his on the job wisdom, my college courses and life experience, Holy Spirit merged it all together and we had some great insight on ministry and see some trends that we’re preparing for. We’re going to share these soon.

5. This one is for Lady Lisa Mitchell – I highly value my pearls. What pearls you ask? The pearls of wisdom God has given me. The word of God says not to cast these before swine (someone that obviously won’t appreciate them). I am called to sow the word of God freely. I gladly do that. But I don’t throw pearls everywhere. Often times they can be trampled by folk who could care less and really don’t see the value in my God-given pearls. I cried, labored, went through, observed, learned hard lessons to receive these pearls. They have to be sought out now. That means I’m not talking so much anymore. It’s frustrating to give out and watch those pearls get trampled. Jesus said not to do this so I’m not. Pearls have to be sought out. Period. So only when folk are truly ready and appreciate the value of pearls will they receive them.

So what’s highly valued in your life?
