Pretty Much Like Clockwork

The teachers of the law asked Jesus to show them a sign. Jesus rebuked them and said you know how to read the signs in the sky…if the sky is red you say the weather will be bad. He asked them how can you read these signs and still not discern the times? (Matthew 16)

It took a minute or two but I’ve been through enough where I can see patterns in my life and in the life of the ministry. So now I can time such occurrences by a clock if you will. When ABC happens, sure as the sky is blue, XYZ follows. But what was different this time was my response to XYZ.

When it happened, I knew immediately what to do…keep doing what I was doing. XYZ wanted to slow down the work, cause division, and shift my focus. Not going to happen. It makes me chuckle now and my beloved was so proud of me. When I told him what happened and my response, he gave me a high five…LOL! We are not ignorant of the enemy’s devices!

So in this New Year, here’s to recognizing patterns and not falling into the same old traps in the same old places.

I can discern the times.
