Really? Laredo, TX? …and Easing up on the trigger

I got a phone call today from a young man with a slight Indian accent. He wanted to give me a trip to Cancun that would only cost me $500 plus airfare. I could bring hubby and the kids for five days and four nights. Not an all inclusive but a few free meals here and there and some other discounted and near free amenities.

My first thought was, “Didn’t I register this line on the Do Not Call registry?” Gotta look into that. But what held my curiosity was the all the noise in the background.

A few classes ago, we learned about the call centers in India and how some of these people live at their jobs to coincide with American business hours. We talked about the training these reps go through. One of the classes has to do with speaking American. Yup, they’re trained on how to mask or alter their natural speaking voices and patterns. So I’m half way listening to what he’s saying but really focused on the background noise I hear. He transfers me to his manager who repeats everything I had been told and I finally ask, where are you? She responded, “Laredo, TX.” I wanted to laugh; I knew better than that. I’m sure if I Google the company and do some research, I’ll find out exactly which call center in India called today.

I wondered what time was it in India…I know that competition for these call center jobs are fierce. I wondered how many times had he had the phone hung up in his face today. I wondered how their lives had changed because of this job.

I gave them my general email address and will look over the information.

I’m not quick to hit the delete button anymore!

Have you ever gotten an email and deleted it and realized you really needed it. Worst yet it contained something you asked for? Maybe the subject line threw you or it ended up in your spam folder but the truth is, it’s been deleted and can’t be retrieved. God sent some stuff; stuff I asked for mind you and I deleted it. I MEAN I TRULY NEEDED IT. That’s the insane part! The next time somebody tells me I don’t need something or has a problem with something God sends me, I ain’t deleting cause they’re uncomfortable! And I’m definitely not going to let anyone define God’s blessing for me. Letting someone else define your stuff will mess you up. I didn’t recognize it at first; the subject line threw me! LOL! I didn’t realize it was the thing I was looking for until after I deleted it! I was so miffed with myself once I realized what really went down! Cause the need IS STILL THERE!

99, 98, 97, 96, 95…

So, in a tweet yesterday, I asked God to please hit the resend button. I’m not crazy enough to delete it twice. As a matter of fact, I’ve got a laundry list of items that I’m asking to be sent and resent. My prayer is that it be done straightway – with no time in between; immediately. If somebody has a problem with my blessing…take it up with my Daddy.

It’s a new day ladies and gentlemen.
