It’s Pretty but It Stinks

I absolutely enjoy my morning walks. I enjoy being outdoors before it gets too hot and the sights and sounds of nature relax me. But it was the smell of nature that demanded my attention this morning. There’s a bush/shrub/tall grass that produces a pretty purple flower. That pretty purple flower stinks. Literally. When I walk by them, they give off a strong onion scent that seriously offends my nose. And I thought, how could something so pretty smell so bad? Holy Spirit said there are Christians in this same condition. They look real good in all their finery but they stink. The sin in their lives...

It was Amazing!

The conference in Ohio was life-changing. I met some incredible women and am so grateful to have met them. I had to leave the conference early and man I wish I could have stayed. The morning session was an intense worship service, the whole room ended up on the floor bowed down in worship. The word of the Lord – It is the year of the Lord’s release – set us free. After the word one of the speakers just wept before God. She received healing and deliverance. She testified about being barren and how barrenness was in her bloodline. She miscarried five times and was so scared about losing the sixth baby that she aborted the baby. Her testimony was so raw,...

It’s all coming back to me

When I was about 13 or 14 my mom decided we needed to take a road trip. Destination? Columbus, Ohio. I can’t remember how long we were on that Greyhound bus but I do remember being glad to finally get off. We spent three weeks in Columbus and at the time they were three of the longest weeks of my life! I’m currently in Canton, Ohio for a conference and it’s all coming back to me. Even though there wasn’t much to do at the time I remember being enamored with the large fir trees and the quaint homes complete with front porch and rocking chair.
