Who isn’t familiar with ABC’s Dancing with the Stars? The show is very popular and fun to watch. Comedienne and actress Niecy Nash made a recent appearance on the show and was dubbed the show’s “thickest contestant.” Read the story here.

A size 8 is considered thick?

Oh boy.

Then Lord what are the rest of us?

I don’t wanna know.

Some wished they had Niecy’s size 8 curvy figure!

They considered her thick.

Wow.

It boggles my mind.

Niecy said she celebrated her curves and loved being “jiggly.”

Will the entertainment and fashion industry every fully appreciate, dare I say celebrate a size 8? How about a size 18? Size 28? Lord, Lane Bryant only photographs girls who are pear-shaped. If you’re gonna be a big girl, it’s better to carry your weight in you butt and thighs. Cone-shaped or apple-shaped sisters, we’re out of luck. We don’t photograph well? Clothes aren’t made for our shape?

For those holding out hope that a Rubenesque revival will re-emerge…I wouldn’t hold my breath.
