Today our youngest and I went to see Despicable Me and what a cute movie! Funny in some parts; touching in others. The sign on the bank that the main character was seeking a loan from said, The Bank of Evil formerly Lehman Brothers Bank. That went right over the kids’ heads but almost made me choke on my Slurpee.
I thought about how the villains care of those three little girls melted his heart.
1 Corinthians 13 in effect.
Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails.
I take it as a friendly reminder to love like Jesus. Tall order some days but I strive nonetheless. Love is how the world will know we’re HIS disciples right? Help Holy Ghost.
Our next family movie night we’ll watch a movie the kids have seen but Elgin and I have not…Over the Hedge which some grown folk tell me is absolutely hilarious.
Happy Tuesday everyone!
