Sleep was not something Elgin and I got a lot of this weekend but it was still a great weekend!
Saturday was Mr. NFL’s first football game of the season! That was so much fun. His game was
supposed to start at 8 p.m. The guys didn’t take the field until after 9 p.m. We were finally headed home at 11:30. I drove us there, missed our turn and had us 12 miles out of the way. We did see a national forest we had no idea was in the area though.
A new Twitter friend Leigh was participating in a triathlon, got separated from the pack during the bike ride portion, fell and hurt herself and used Twitter to ask for help. She was in a fringe network area; calls wouldn’t go through but text messages would. I say it was smart thinking on her part and I’m glad she was able to send the tweet.
I thought of her while we were in the middle of this forest because we had no bars on our cell phones. I couldn’t call anyone to tell them we were running late and didn’t have enough coverage to even send a tweet, text or anything! I don’t even want to think what in the world would have happened if anything went wrong with our car!
So not much sleep Saturday night.
Sunday fellowship with the good people of ZTCC is always encouraging. What a great service and great testimonies! We came home, took a quick nap and then joined friends David and Laurie Hoskins for an incredible worship experience. We learned so much and God confirmed so much. The corporate word for the body of believers residing in the Houston area was insightful and powerful. I couldn’t help but think that this was truly a Kingdom event. We are excited and encouraged! We left the service about 9:30 p.m. or so and spent a good part of the evening talking about what we had just witnessed and what it all meant.
It’s been a sleepless weekend but a fabulous weekend nonetheless!
