After church, my beloved and I went for a hike on a trail near our home. It was our first time. We’d always wanted to go but because of the 9-5 hours, we’d always miss them. Now, I love wide open spaces. I love nature. But I don’t like bugs and I don’t like critters. I know…there’s still way too much city girl in me but in my heart I really want to be a country girl save one thing…creepy cralwers. I was nervous at first but as we walked I grew more comfortable and enjoyed the scenery. Still watched for ants though. I really relaxed when we met up with another family. LOL! Around 3pm today my boss said go home. She did not have to tell me twice. I had a whole hour to burn so I decided to have my eyebrows threaded. OUCH! I’m pleased with the results but man! Yes, I’ll do it again. Somebody I know and love had their entire face threaded. Um no. I can’t imagine. Classes resume in a few weeks. Looking forward to all the neat stuff I’ll learn, not so thrilled about the papers. But it’s part of the process. I’m just pass the halfway mark so there’s light at the end of this tunnel. The words of a former boss haunted me throughout the entire enrollment process. I even harbored questions during my first few months of class. His words to me…don’t even think about attending the University of Phoenix. He called it a degree mill. But when I made the decision to return to school and complete my degree, traditional schools did not fit the lifestyle of a nontraditional student. By now, many have heard the accusations against Bishop Eddie Long. I asked a question on a friend’s FB post…what if the allegations are not true? What if they are completely fabricated? What if money is at the root of all this? What is our response as believers? Do we throw he and his ministry under the bus only to try and revive him if this whole thing proves to be a lie? I feel for him and his family whether it’s true or not. If it’s not true, the damage has already been done and his name will forever be mud in a lot of folks mind. He will always be under the eye of suspicion. I can’t imagine what his wife and family must be going through....
