Peek into 2011
I literally woke up this morning singing this song. How befitting going into 2011. We are MORE THAN conquerors! I will carry this Word into the New Year. I believe it is what God wants me…all of us to remember. No matter what we face, we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. (Romans 8:37) I am excited about tonight! This year we were led to host the traditional NYE Watch Service in our home. We’ll eat, we’ll share, we’ll pray, and we’ll certainly laugh. It will be a night of fellowship, footwashing, and fireworks! I am so grateful for all that has transpired in 2010. Some stuff hurt like crazy but God made even that work out...

Last night in our WOW service (Word on Wednesday for any new readers) we talked about there being more. Paul told the church at Phillipi that he was pressing towards the mark of the high calling in Christ Jesus. That everything he’d done or accomplished (which was a lot) prior to Christ he counted as nothing. And even though God did the wonderful in 2010. Even though it was a year of restoration and promotion… Even though God spoke marvelously in ZTCC… Even though we grew spiritually… Even though we learned more about who He Is… Even though we gave faithfully…time and resources… Even though we pressed and were blessed… 2010...

And I absolutely LOVE it! The feature I love most about being able to read books on my phone is that I can download samples to read. There are lots of books out there…some good…some not so good. But the download sample feature is one of my new best friends…(the elliptical machine is the other…lol). I downloaded a book called What God Does When Women Pray by Evelyn Christenson. I was reading the sample on my lunch and was nearly late getting back because I was so enthralled. I am encouraged this morning for the Word of the Lord that comes to pass in the lives of His children. So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it. – Isaiah 55:11 We have this assurance that HIS word will be accomplished and it will prosper. My devotional this morning spoke of Moses’ first encounter with God. Moses asked His name and the Lord’s response was I AM. You’ve got to be pretty AWESOME to be called I AM. His name comforts me. I can call on Him and He answers. During the Christmas season, we know Him as Emmanuel, God with us. How amazing is that? God walked around and lived as one of us. His name blesses me. I can call His name and He responds. I AM is bigger than anything I go through or come up against. I AM welcomes me into His presence. I AM takes care of my enemies. I AM loves me unconditionally.
