In my soon-to-be-released book, What Million-Dollar Brands Know: Marketing & Branding Strategies for Today’s Entrepreneur, I interviewed business owner, Jill Kerrigan of JAK Designs. 

During our time together she talked about the importance of consistently feeding your company’s marketing machine and what happens when you don’t.

Every business owner knows it’s so easy to get caught up in doing the work and meeting client expectations that you forget to continue marketing your own business. It took Kerrigan losing her major contracts before she realized she hadn’t been feeding her company’s own marketing machine. And restarting the machine was going to be arduous.

Her advice is to never stop marketing. Never stop engaging after the big client win because clients and contracts don’t always last.
